Real Estate in Las Cruces, NM
Las Cruces is home. We live here, and it is the center of our work. Las Cruces is the county seat of Doña Ana County and the second-largest city in New Mexico, set in the Mesilla Valley on the Rio Grande floodplain with the Organ Mountains rising about 10 miles to the east.
About Las Cruces
The city sits at about 3,900 feet. The Organ, Doña Ana, and Robledo Mountains and Picacho Peak frame the valley, so views of the mountains are part of daily life here.
New Mexico State University, the state’s only land-grant university, was founded here in 1888, and Doña Ana Community College is here too. White Sands Missile Range and White Sands Test Facility are nearby federal employers, and Virgin Galactic has its headquarters in the city, with Spaceport America’s corporate offices.
Things to do
Downtown has a Main Street pedestrian mall, the Branigan Cultural Center, the Las Cruces Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History, and the Railroad Museum. The New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum sits on 47 acres east of the university, and the city maintains about 87 parks. A downtown farmers’ market runs Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
The calendar includes Cowboy Days in early March, the Southern New Mexico Wine Festival on Memorial Day weekend, the Southern New Mexico State Fair in early October, and the Las Cruces Chile Drop on New Year’s Eve. Mesilla’s Cinco de Mayo and Christmas Eve plaza luminarias are close by.
Getting around the region
El Paso, Texas is about 42 miles away, and Albuquerque is about 225 miles north. The border is about 41 miles south. Las Cruces is the hub for the towns we serve across southern New Mexico.
Buying or selling in Las Cruces
We serve buyers and sellers in Las Cruces, and we are glad to talk through your plans whether you are just starting to look or are ready to move. Our approach is simple: listen first, answer your questions honestly, and build a plan around your goals.
When we work together, we can help you look at:
- Your goals, timeline, and budget
- The kinds of properties available in the area
- Utilities, flood zone, and other property details worth checking
- The steps from offer to closing, explained plainly
If you are selling in Las Cruces, we will help you prepare the property, set a price you can feel confident about, and present it to buyers from the surrounding region. We keep you informed through showings, offers, and negotiations so you always know where things stand.
How to get started
The first step is a conversation. Tell us what you are hoping to do and when, and we will suggest a plan. For buyers, that usually means talking through your budget and priorities, then viewing homes that fit. For sellers, it means a walk-through of the property and a discussion of pricing and timing. There is no pressure, and no obligation to work with us afterward.
